INTO THE ABYSS (2011) DOCUMENTARY:
The town of Conroe, Texas has an unusually large amount of its residents behind bars, two of whom are Death Row inmates Michael Perry and Jason Burkett. In 2002, the two teens committed a triple homicide when they attempted to steal a Camaro and take it for a joyride. With access to the families of both the victims and perpetrators, state executioners, and Perry and Burkett themselves, Werner Herzog directs a chilling documentary that delves into the disturbed psyches of two killers and explores the morality behind capital punishment.
